Challenge 19 will be open until Sunday December 31 at 11:59 PM ET. We can’t wait to see how you will use your favorite Lawn Fawn sets!
Christy joins us today to share a gorgeous card and a story about her sweet inspiration!
Hey friends! It’s Christy here with another Christmas card using one of my most favorite Lawn Fawn Holiday sets: Cheery Christmas! For today’s card, I wanted to color the little reindeer to resemble a sweet albino deer named Olive that lives in the woods on my street. They say it’s lucky if you catch a glimpse of her — so far my hubby and all three of my sons have seen her, but I haven’t yet. I’ve seen plenty of pictures that neighbors have shared though, and I can’t wait see her for myself.
Even though Olive is a doe, I took a little artistic liberty and made her a stag for my card, because I wanted to hang those cute little ornaments in the antlers. I also gave her a squirrel friend and a little scarf from Baaah Humbug so she can be nice and cozy! I colored my images with Copic markers and then die cut my focal panel using the Large Cross Stitched Square Stackables and a Stitched Hillside Border for the snow.
The rest of my patterned papers were die cut using the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, the Stitched Scalloped Borders, and even a little selective die-cutting with the Stitched Party Banners to get that nice stitched detail on the flag end.
To finish up the card, I added a sentiment from Tiny Tag Sayings and a few shine marks on the ornaments with a white gel pen and some Nuvo Drops as a final embellishment.
I have a video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty, if you’d like to see how the whole card came together.
You still have a more than a week left to enter our Use Your Favorite Lawn Fawn Stamp Set Challenge! I do hope you’ll play along. I always love to see what you all create!
Wishing you all the most joyous of holiday seasons!
