Hey everyone, it’s Christy! Happy Black Friday to all our friends in the States! To those out shopping, may you find lots of deals, and to those tucked indoors, I wish you lots of yummy leftovers and family cheer!
Today’s card is definitely a sweet treat. And it’s actually not just a card. On Wednesday the Lawn Fawn and Lawn Fawnatics design teams participated in the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event, and I actually made mine as a set with a matching card and gift tags. These could either be used on one family’s gifts, or split up and used individually.
The Gingerbread Friends dies brought back so many childhood memories of when I loved to play with and design my own paper dolls. You start out with a simple gingerbread man shape (or six) and it’s like paper dolls for adults! I had so much fun mixing and matching all the different accessories.
My boys are all teenagers now, but this could absolutely be a wonderful activity for little ones. You could fill little dishes or an empty egg crate with all the different bits and pieces, give them the gingerbread men and a glue stick, and BAM! You can thank me later when you’ve had a solid half hour or more all to yourself to get some Christmas baking done or wrap a few gifts. Use them on cards or as gift tags, or tape some string on the back for a Christmas garland.
Can you tell I miss my kids being little? Back to my card. After I decorated my gingerbread men and lady, I adhered them to a focal panel of patterned paper trimmed down with the Stitched Circle Stackables and Scalloped Circle Stackables. The card base measures 4 1/2′ x 4 1/2” which is the perfect size for the largest of the Cross-Stitched Square Stackables. I layered on another piece of patterned paper and popped the focal panel in the center with foam tape. To finish off the card, I added a white heat embossed sentiment from Sweet Christmas. On the inside I stamped a few of the candies from Sweet Christmas and an additional sentiment from Merry Messages.
You can check out the video on my YouTube Channel, Christy Gets Crafty, if you’d like to see how the card and tags came together.
There’s still time left to enter our Shaped Card Challenge, so if you’ve got a little extra free time over holiday break, now is the perfect time to get crafting! We can’t wait to see what you create!
