Christy’s Stud Puffin Card Inspired by the Challenge Color Palette!

Hey friends, it’s Christy! I hope all who celebrate had a very Merry Christmas! I’m here today with another card for our Inspiration Board Challenge. I focused on that gorgeous cool-toned color palette and colored my cute Stud Puffins with Copic markers, adding in images from Mermaid for You and You Are Sublime to complete the look.

Then I took Mermaid, Moonstone, and Blue Jay cardstock and trimmed them down with the Stitched Wave Borders. I adhered two of them flat to my card base, then stamped a sentiment on the third with Peacock ink and popped it up with foam tape. I used a combination of Glue Tube and foam tape to adhere my images.

To finish things off, I added two clouds from the Spring Showers dies and stamped a seagull from Life Is Good in the sky. If you’d like to see how this card came together, I have a video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. You still have another week to play along in our last challenge for 2019! We can’t wait to see what you create!

Our Inspiration Board challenge will be open until Sunday, January 5th at 11:59PM ET. We hope you will join us!

Thank you so much for sharing with us today, Christy! Your beautiful scene is absolutely brilliant!

Wishing You a Magical Christmas!

For all of our friends celebrating Christmas today, we wish you a very merry holiday!

Samantha‘s gorgeous card captures our Inspiration Board perfectly with this beautiful Winter Skies scene!

For the background, Samantha blended Distress inks in Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch and Black Soot. She blending Shaded Lilac onto the Stitched Mountain Border before splattering all the ink blending with water and white paint for a lovely snowy landscape!

The images from Winter Skies were colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. The trees got a bit of splatter with white paint too! As a final magical touch, Samantha stamped Santa’s sleigh and reindeer and embossing the image with glitter embossing powder!

Jessica’s Winter Skies Inspiration!

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Inspiration Board challenge! I love the colors of the inspiration board and decided to use those as my inspiration today!

To start I placed a circle mask onto an A2 panel of Strathmore Bristol cardstock and then blended Peacock Feathers, Shaded Lilac, Faded Jeans, and Chipped Sapphire distress oxide ink onto the panel. I heat set the ink and then splattered it with water mixed with a little Liquid Stardust. Once that dried I splattered it with white gouache and set it aside to dry. When it was dry I removed the mask and colored the moon with Copic markers. Then I stamped Santa’s sleigh from Winter Skies with Versamark and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. If you look really carefully you can see the tiny dot of red berry Nuvo drops I added to Rudolph’s nose!

Next I stamped the cute fox and raccoon couple from Winter Skies with Versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I also stamped the sentiment onto Black Licorice cardstock with Versamark and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder before trimming it down to thin labels. I die-cut the Leafy Tree Backdrop: Portrait with white cardstock and used Copic markers to color the tree to resemble a birch. I also die-cut a stitched hill from white cardstock and added a little shading. I adhered the hill behind the tree and then adhered that to my blended panel. Then I used foam mounting tape to add my sentiment and critters. Next I added a little Nuvo crystal glaze to the tree and sprinkled it with white puff embossing powder before heating it. The white puff really spreads with the crystal glaze. Then I went back and added more crystal glaze to the tree and scarves and sprinkled it with Chunky and Prisma glitter to finish the card with a little sparkle!

And that’s it! You have two more weeks to get crafty and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!

Jess
