It’s Caly with you today and I’m so excited to share my project with you. I adore the latest release by Lawn Fawn and got to use it today for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #68 – Something Old & Something New! I’m using quite a few older sets so keep reading to find out!
The new You’re Just My Type and Love Poems sets are so much fun so I couldn’t help but combine them to create my pull-tab card today. I love the little mice on these sets so I combed through my Lawn Fawn bins and pulled out two more sets that have mice to add some friends to my card. The two mice at the bottom of my card are from the Elphie Selfie and Wild For You sets.
My images are stamped and colored with Copic markers. After die-cutting, I added white gel highlights. I do this after die-cutting because I’ve found that they can rub off on your die-cutting plates so I thought I would share that with you. Nothing like spending some time coloring for things to get messed up during the die-cutting process! Ask me, I totally had to color the desk twice because the die shifted during die-cutting. BOO!
My background is ink-blended with Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide inks on top and Peacock Feathers on the bottom. I love pinks and teals and always have to incorporate those colors! After ink-blending, I die-cut the Outside In Stitched Rectangles to create my border, then I used the new Just Stitching Hearts to add texture to my background, overlapping them for interest.
I then used the Let’s Toast Pull Tab Add-On to create my mechanism for my typed love note. I love all the mice on this card and the revealed note! To finish my card, I stamped the light rays for my lamp and added the typewriter sounds and stamped my sentiment on a Simple Wavy Banner.
I hope you enjoyed this project as much as I had making it! The current Something Old, Something New challenge ends on Sunday, January 19th at 11:59pm ET! I can’t wait to see all the entries! Thanks so much for stopping by today! ~Caly
