Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current CASE Yourself challenge! I’ll be honest and admit that I don’t often look back at my own cards for inspiration so it was a little bit of a challenge for me. But it was fun to try and put a new spin on an older card! Here’s my original card that was created for a challenge last summer!
I decided to play around with acrylic block stamping and a little bit of my previous Mermaid for You layout for today’s card!
To start I smooshed Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Pine Needles and Lucky Clover Distress inks onto an acrylic block. I spritzed it with water a few times and then pressed it to a piece of watercolor paper. I held it in place for about 30 seconds to give the ink time to soak into the paper. Then I lifted the block and let the ink dry. Once it was totally dry I splattered it with water to lighten areas of the background.
While the background was drying I stamped the pea pods and peas from Be Hap-Pea with Versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies before adding a few accents with a white gel pen. I also stamped the sentiment onto black cardstock with Versamark and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. I arranged the peas, pods, and sentiments with a mixture of regular adhesive and foam mounting tape. And I used mini Action Wobblers (that I trimmed down) for two of the peas as I did the mermaid in my previous card. Finally I added a few gems in various shades of green to finish the card!
And that’s it! You have one more week to get crafty and I can’t wait to see how your previous creations inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing week!

This is so cute – I love the idea of using an acrylic block as a stamp!
