Karin shares a beautiful idea for a monochromatic winter birthday card! She combined Winter Birds, Winter Sprigs Background Stencils and Giant Happy Birthday with a lovely result!

Karin used a blue violet color palette to stencil the background on a Ballet Slippers panel. Then she deepened the color with more ink blended around the outside. And she colored the Winter Birds in the same colors.

For the sentiment, Karin found a phrase in Reveal Wheel Sentiments to pair with the Giant Happy Birthday greeting!

Thank you so much for this lovely inspiration, Karin!

Franci combined Say What? Gift Tags with Peppermint Border to make festive red and white holiday tags. She used Festive Berries Distress Oxide ink to color the white cardstock for the tag frames and the peppermint candies.

Then she used Guava ink to stamp to and from with Say What? Christmas Critters. She assembled the tags, then looped some White Hemp Twine through holes. So quick and easy and so cute!

Thanks so much for this sweet inspiration, Franci!

Christy’s Beautiful Blue Holiday Card

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Monochromatic Challenge! Since I’ve always gone for either Fall or Halloween cards when this challenge comes around, I decided this time I would make a Christmas card! But I wasn’t feeling the traditional red or green, so I decided to go with a vibrant, cobalt blue for that truly icy feel.

I stamped the images from Winter Birds and Frosty Fairy Friends in Jet Black Ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with their matching dies.

I wanted to do an emboss resist background, so I cut down a panel of Bristol Cardstock with the largest of the Small Stitched Rounded Rectangle Stackables and stamped a sentiment and some snowflakes in Versamark Ink. Then I coated that with white embossing powder and set it with my heat tool. Then I blended on Distress Oxide Inks, starting in the center with Salvaged Patina, then moving out into Salty Ocean, and finally Blueprint Sketch. I did some splatter detail with water, the inks, and with white acrylic paint.

Then I glued the background to a Blue Jay card base, created an insert for the inside stamped in Fish Tank Ink, and adhered my images to the front with foam tape. To finish things off, I added a few clear sequins and some Stardust Stickles to complete the frosty effect.

If you’d like to watch the whole process of creating this card, you can check out the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty! We hope you are inspired by our Monochromatic Challenge and all the scenes you can create with a single-color tone. Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful card inspiration, Christy!
