Joyce’s Inspired Acorn House!

There are already lots of great entries for the Halloween and Fall Inspiration challenge! Be sure to check out all the great ideas at the Challenge 86 post and join the fun! This challenge will be open until Sunday October 18th at 11:59PM ET.

Joyce joins us today to share a fun Fall design that was inspired by the Autumn colored leaves in the inspiration photo!

Joyce used the Large Slimline with Sliders to create the background for this super cute long scene! The leaves are changing color and the adorable squirrels from Let’s Go Nuts are busy gathering nuts to store for winter!

Joyce ink blended the background in warm tones and used warm cardstock colors to die cut a bunch of leaves from Acorn House! She also added some inky shadows to the base of the Acorn House.

Thank you so much for sharing this fun inspiration with us today, Joyce!

Awesome Autumn Inspiration with Samantha!

Samantha is here today to share an awesome slimline card for our new Awesome Autumn challenge! She created a long scene for a long sentiment!

Samantha used Large Slimline with Sliders to die cut a tall panel and blended Distress Oxide inks in Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch, Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers. She added some dimension by sprinkling water to react with the oxide ink to leave random droplets.

She stamped and colored with Zig markers images from Into the Woods, Dandy Day, Really High Five, Super Star, A Bug Deal, You’re Just My Type and Love Poems. She arranged the images and attached them with foam tape.

The timely sentiment was white embossed on Black Licorice cardstock using Harold’s ABCs. Samantha trimmed the words into strips and popped them up on the card with foam tape. As a finishing touch, she added a bit of sparkle to the acorns with Prisma glitter!

Thanks so much for inspiring us today, Samantha!

Christy’s Crazy Antics Picnic!

It’s almost time to celebrate our new Fall & Winter Release! We can’t wait to show you all the fun new products we have coming out soon! Join us at the Lawn Fawn blog starting on September 2!

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Make the Sentiment the Star Challenge. I was itching to revisit the Crazy Antics stamp set again, but this time featuring those cute little ants! I also pulled in images from Unicorn Picnic and the dirt pile “ant hill” from A Bug Deal. I stamped all my images in Jet Black ink, colored them with Copic markers, and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For my focal panel, I took the Meadow Backdrop: Portrait and die cut it out of some Bristol Smooth Surface cardstock. Using the Cloudy Stencil, I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide into the sky. Then I used Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn for the grass. I also added some splatter effect for a little extra detail.

I adhered that to a Mermaid card base and spelled out the word ANTICS with Finley’s ABCs in both Raspberry and Chili Pepper cardstock and glued them together slightly off-set so that the Chili Pepper became the drop shadow. I adhered that across the sky, and white heat-embossed the rest of the sentiment onto a strip of Black Licorice cardstock. Then I filled in the rest of my scene with those adorable food-heisting picnic interlopers!

If you’d like to see how this card came together, I have a video tutorial for you on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty.

I hope I’ve inspired you to get crafty yourself and make the sentiment the star! We can’t wait to see what you create! The Make the Sentiment the Star challenge will be open until Sunday, September 6 at 11:59PM ET.
