Awesome Lots of Love Inspiration with Silvia!

Our lovely and talented Guest Designer, Silvia is back to share another amazing card to inspire you for our Lots of Love challenge! She loves baking goodies for her loved ones so that was her inspiration for this baking themed card.

To create the background, Silvia started with white woodgrain cardstock and did some colorful ink smooshing! Next she added texture by die cutting a Valentine Border to use as a stencil with Distress Grit-Paste, creating a sweet heart border!

She stamped and colored images from Baked with Love, Special Delivery, Love Letters and Jump for Joy to create the happy scene! And then she die cut the greeting from Finley’s ABCs out of Tropical Shimmer cardstock!

To add even more fun to this amazing design, Silvia created three yummy Stitched Cupcakes with colorful sprinkles! I love how this beautiful card combines so much fun and happiness!

Thank you so much, Silvia for sharing your gorgeous Lots of Love cards with us! We are so happy you joined us as our Guest Designer for this challenge! Big hugs!

Jessica’s Purr-fect Wedding Card!

This is the final weekend for the Outstanding Occasions challenge! We will have a brand new challenge for you on Monday, but for now we have the most awesome inspiration for you by team member, Jessica! Her bright and bold design is a perfectly unique wedding card!

Good morning!  Jess here with a card for our current Outstanding Occasions challenge!  I realized recently that my wedding and anniversary card stash was getting low so I figured I’d use the challenge to build up my stash again!

I love puns and thought it would be fun to build a card around ‘meow and furever’ for a cat-loving friend!  To start I blended picked raspberry and festive berries distress oxide ink onto a panel of Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock.  I let it dry and then die-cut my sentiment from Finley’s ABCs and the Hearts die set.  I arranged my letters to get a two tone effect from the ink colors and then die-cut the hearts from just one color.  I adhered them to a white card base and used Milo’s ABCs and A Bug Deal to complete the sentiment.

Next I stamped the images from Meow You Doin’ and Bicycle Built for You with Copic friendly Jet Black ink.  I colored them with Copic markers and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies.  I used toner grays for the cats and then RV and cool greys for the rest of the images to keep the palette simple.  The RV shades matched my distress inked hearts nicely!  I added the cats and accessories to my card and finished it with a few white gel pen accents!

And that’s it!  You have one more weekend to get crafty and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create!  Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend! –Jess

Jessica’s Cute and Fishy Back to School Inspiration

Good morning! Jess here with a fishy card for our current Back to School challenge!

I decided to use a school of fish as the basis for my card! I started by stamping the teacher shark and a ton of fish from Duh-Nuh onto a panel of Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock. I also stamped a few fish onto a separate piece of white cardstock. Then I stamped the shark and the fish a few times on a stack of full sheet post-it notes and fussy cut them to create masks. I placed a mask over every stamped image to prep it for ink-blending!

Next I used the Hillside, Ocean Wave, and Scene Builder: Bayou stencils to create a background on the stamped panel. I used tumbled glass, peacock feathers, blueprint sketch, and chipped sapphire distress oxide ink for the waves, chipped sapphire for the bayou, and antique linen and tea dye distress oxide ink for the sand. Then I splattered water across the panel and a little watered down gathered twigs and tea dye distress oxide ink across the sand. I dried it with my heat gun and then removed all of the masks!

Then it was time to color! I used Y32, 35, and 38 for the fish and also colored the separately stamped fish before fussy-cutting them. I used neutral grays for the shark. Then I die-cut the sentiment using Finley’s ABCs and Black Licorice cardstock. I adhered the letters across the panel and then added a few of my fussy cut fish in and around the letters. In hindsight I wish I had one more fish to add above the L but we’ll pretend he’s running late today! 😉

Next I stamped the rest of the sentiment from Thanks a Bushel onto Black Licorice cardstock and heat-embossed it with white embossing powder. I trimmed it down to a thin label and adhered it to the card. Finally I used a black glaze pen to define the eyes of the fish and shark and finish the card!

And that’s it! You have one more weekend to get crafty for Lawn Fawnatics Back to School challenge and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!
