A Summery Get Well Card by Jessica

Today we have Jessica with us to share an adorable card!

Good morning! Jess here with a CAS and (apparently) subtle get-well card for our current Cheerful Get Well challenge! I was all excited with my concept and then my husband walked by, looked at my card, and said “I don’t get it.” Sigh…hopefully it makes sense to someone else besides me! 😉

Happy Summer is an older Lawn Fawn set but it’s always been one of my favorites. Despite absolutely hating ants in real life, I think they’re adorable in stamp form! And the idea behind my card is that one of my tiny ants isn’t feeling well so the other ants told him to take care and rest while they carried the watermelon (and him) onto their next destination!

I started by stamping the watermelon and ants from Happy Summer onto a piece of white cardstock with Copic friendly ink. Then I colored my watermelon with Copic markers. I used R46, R27, and R24 for the flesh of the watermelon, YG21 for the yellow part of the rind, and G28, G17, and G05 for the rind. I stamped part of the sentiment from Hang in There and the rest of the sentiment and the heart from Get Well Soon. I trimmed the sides of the panel down and adhered it to the Rudolph plaid paper from the Perfectly Plaid Christmas patterned paper. Finally I added a layer of glossy accents to the red of the watermelon for a little extra shine!

And that’s my subtle get well card, ha! You have a few more days to enter our Cheerful Get Well challenge and a new challenge will start on Monday! Thanks so much for visiting and have a fabulous weekend!

A Jungle-Themed Card by Christy

Christy has a fun post to share with us today! Prepare to be inspired!

Hey crafty friends! It’s Christy here with a super cute birthday card to go along with our first challenge! I can’t believe that Lawn Fawn is seven this month! I’ve been a fan from the very beginning.

One of my favorite things about Lawn Fawn is that their images work so well together! You can pretty much combine images from any set, old or new, and they will play so nicely together. For today’s card I used Hang In There, Critters In The Jungle, Party Animal, and Happy Summer. Can you spot all four sets?

I colored my images with Copic markers, making sure to add lots of different greens to my leaves to really give it that authentic jungle feel. I knew I wanted to create a recessed window using the Echo Park Jungle Safari 6×6 patterned paper, so I die cut the outside with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, and the inside with the Stitched Journaling Card Lawn Cuts. I added a second print inside the window, then layered everything with foam tape to give it dimension. For my sentiment, I stamped “happy birthday” onto a third, woodgrain pattern and die cut that with the Everyday Sentiment Banners to make it look like a sign.

For the inside of my card, I took the sloth image as well as an additional sentiment from Hang In There and stamped them both in Noble Fir ink. I always like to carry a bit of the fun from the outside onto the inside to really finish things off!

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you all have a great weekend and find time to create something new for our first Lawn Fawnatics Challenge!
