Hi Friends, Sam here! One of my favorite movies to watch is the Emperor’s New Groove! I have seen it countless times. One time when my back went out, I even watched it over and over and over while my
husband was at work, and I couldn’t get up to change the DVD player! (I’m aging myself, I know! lol) Despite having seen it so many times, it still cracks me up so hard that I cry! So it seemed perfect to use it as inspiration for the current Lawn Fawnatics Challenge!

I used the llama from Llama Tell You and the jar from How You Bean? to create my own potion
bottle! I colored it in with hot pinks and wild purples (the same color as the ‘poison’ in the movie,
of course). I actually used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color all of the images! The
kitten is from Purrfectly Wicked, and she was colored to mimic Yzma (who turns into a cute and
cuddly kitten at the end of the movie)!

I thought the Flippy Flappy die would be perfect to deliver the punchline of the joke! It’s just so
funny! I can hear Yzma saying it so clearly in my head!

I stamped the sentiments with Harold’s ABCs and heat embossed them with white embossing powder onto Black Licorice Cardstock.

Thank you so much for this delightful inspiration, Samantha!

Design Team Inspiration

Catherine was inspired by our new Elephant Parade Add-On and Disney’s Dumbo to create a sweet circus themed card! She got really creative finding images from other sets to get the details just right! Dumbo’s hat is a mix of the witch hat from Booyah, and the nurse hat from Get Well Soon. And she used a cloud from Fly High to make Dumbo’s ruffled collar. She also included mice from Apple-solutely Awesome and Berry Special and Raffle Tickets, Build-A-Campsite and Fishtail Banner Borders.

Samantha was inspired by the children’s book, I Love You to the Moon and Back! The cute bears are from Den Sweet Den, and ice from Critters in the Arctic helps to recreate the scene from the book jacket. She used Nighttime Sky to stencil that amazing moon and stamped the sentiment by combined Henry Jr.’s ABCs and Out of This World.

Karin was inspired by Ratatouille! Her amazing scene features A Creature Was Stirring, Purrfectly Wicked and the Ugly and Bright bear. She stenciled brick on the Window Frame and included a die cut greeting from Gift Box.

The Little Mermaid was Franci‘s inspiration for this sweet shaker design! She mixed Mermaid for You with Ocean Shell-fie for the characters. I love her stamped background!

Joyce was also inspired by the animated movie, Dumbo to create a sweet baby card! She created a little scene with Elephant Parade on a Scalloped Circle adding cute details from the movie! I love the little top hat from Bicycle Built for You on the mouse, its so clever!

Christy‘s card features Ocean Shell-fie, Mermaid for You, You Are Sublime and Scripty Bubble Sentiments in a fun underwater scene!

Christy was inspired by amazing artwork on a book jacket!

Samantha was inspired by favorite childhood anime show called Sailor Moon. She combined from Screen Time, Purrfectly Wicked and Starry Sky Stencil to create this clever scene.

Mimi worked her magic to create a card inspired by Top Gun: Maverick! She did some clever masking to create fighter jets from the Plane and Simple airplanes. The pilots from from Tiny Sports Friends and Maverick is from Tiny Friends. She also used Village Heroes and the retired Plan on It: Vacation.

Let’s see what our amazing Design Team was inspired to create!

Jessica‘s brilliant spinning-slider card is a nod to The Princess Bride! She used the boy from Bicycle Built for You to stand in for Westley and then she framed the card with Spring Flower Backdrop. She spelled out Westley’s catch phrase using Henry’s ABCs! I’m pretty sure our Lawn Fawn mice are too cute to be “rodents of unusual size”!

Mimi created the cutest scene based on Clifford, The Big Red Dog! Clifford is from Critters at the Dog Park, and he’s surrounded by lots of Tiny Friends. Mimi used Happy Village for the house and doghouse (with a little modification), trees and fence. The large dog bowl is found in Happy Howloween.

Joyce‘s amazing set of bookmarks are inspired by Harry Potter! She used Plaid Stencils to ink the colors of the four houses and then she added all the fun characters and details for each! She combined images from Screen Time, Bicycle Built for You, Purrfectly Wicked, Den Sweet Den, Toadally Awesome, Virtual Friends Add-On, and Special Delivery. To finish the bookmarks, she heat-embossed a sentiment from Unicorn Picnic!

If you give a mouse a cookie, he’s going to ask for a glass of milk“! Samantha captured the fun of this beloved children’s book using the overalls-wearing mouse from Berry Special along with Milk and Cookies! She combined papers from Sweater Weather Remix and a Stitched Scalloped Square Frame.

Catherine combined lots of fun details in her Peter Pan inspired Platform Pop-Up card! She decorated the platform to be the Jolly Roger adding Mushroom House windows as portholes! Then she combined Ahoy Matey, Bicycle Built for You, Wild for You, Booyah and Stitched Wave Borders to create the characters and scene! The little fairy from Unicorn Picnic is a perfect Tinkerbell!

Christy‘s adorable You Goat This scene is based on a favorite childhood record and song: The Adventures of Bernie the Billy Goat! She added detail to the scene with Picket Fence Border and Grassy Hillside Borders.

Karin captured the character of Flash, the sloth from Zootopia right down to his personalized coffee mug! She did some creative stamp altering to turn our I Like Naps sloth into Flash! She used the sentiment from Village Shops to make this a fun birthday card!

Franci‘s charming card design is based on Paddington Bear! The Beary Rainy Day bear is the perfect choice to play Paddington!

Samantha was inspired by an episode of The Office where Dwight and Jim decorate the conference room (very badly) for Kelly’s birthday. She shopped her stash to find all the fun pieces to put together this special birthday card! She used Screen Time for the characters, Virtual Friends and Virtual Friends Add-On for the office details and balloons from Really High Five. She created the hilarious birthday sentiment using Harold’s ABCs.

We will share more Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 120 – All Things Birthday tomorrow! Now it’s time for you to get creative!
