An Apple For The Teacher with Caly!

Hi Friends! It’s Caly with you today sharing a teacher’s appreciation card for the current challenge. It’s back to school time and this year has been so challenging for everyone. Teachers are truly heroes and need recognition!

The Back to School challenge will be open until Sunday, September 20 at 11:59PM ET. I hope you will join us!

Apples are the one of the many symbols for teachers – so I created an apple card today using the Outside In Stitched Apple Stackables. I used a few other dies to create the face for the cute apple – Woodland Critter Huggers for the cheeks and mouth and Large Wreath for the eyes.

I die-cut the parts using Lawn Fawn cardstock in Chili Pepper, Paper Bag, Cilantro, Ballet Slippers and Black Licorice. Once I got everything pieced together, I added foam adhesive to the back to adhere my apple to a piece of rainbow patterned paper from the Really Rainbow 6×6 Petite Paper Pack.

For my sentiment, I embossed the words “you are my” from the Village Heroes set over black cardstock. I centered it at the top of my apple and adhered it down with foam adhesive.

To make the word “hero” stand out more, I die-cut it in black cardstock using Oliver’s Stitched ABCs. I centered and adhered these letters to my card panel with foam adhesive at the bottom of my card.

I hope you enjoyed this card! Sometimes the most meaningful cards are the simplest ones! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Caly

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge 84 – Back to School

Happy Monday, Fawnatics friends! It’s that time of the year for back to school! It might look a little different this year but the feelings are the same; kids, parents and teachers are excited for another adventure in learning! We invite you to create a card or crafty project with a “back to school” or “teacher appreciation” theme for this challenge!

We would love for you to share your creativity by linking up your crafty projects at the end of this post! Your project should feature Lawn Fawn stamps, dies and papers. This challenge will run for 2 weeks and be open until Sunday, September 20th at 11:59PM ET.

For each challenge, we will randomly select an entry to receive a $25.00 gift certificate to the Lawn Fawn shop! We will also be highlighting a few of your fabulous projects at the close of each challenge! By linking your projects to our challenges you will give permission for us to post your work to this blog and our social media sites. Check out the How to Play page for a few guidelines to play along. We want this to be FUN so we’ll keep the rules to just a few!

Let’s see how our awesome Design Team was inspired by this challenge theme!

Joyce used images from our Village Heroes set to create a beautiful thank you card! She added the tree and a pair of apples from Tree Before ‘n Afters!

For her card, Samantha designed the perfect study space! She used the desk, typewriter and lamp from You’re Just My Type and added the bird and book from Science of Love! I love how she added a “window” with a view to the tree outside! The Outside In Stitched Apple is a great backdrop for this fun scene!

Village Heroes is the star of Jessica‘s bright and cheerful card! The bold colors are so striking and the basket of apples from Thanks a Bushel are the perfect addition!

Often overlooked but an important part of education is the fearless driving teacher! Christy‘s fun design is the perfect way to thank the teacher who makes sure drivers know the rules of the road! She combined Car Critters with Village Heroes and Road Border.

Franci‘s fun back-to-school design features Science of Love and a couple of birds with chemistry!

I’m sure a teacher would love to receive this card with its sweet message! Caly‘s card starts with Really Rainbow paper peeking through the Outside In Stitched Circle window. The cute mice from You’re Just My Type and Love Poems are perfect to start the day with a smile!

How amazing is Samantha‘s school-themed scrapbook layout?! She created a cool design using Quinn’s ABCs stamped with Manatee ink. Then she added the title with Cole’s ABCs. Finally she added some color with Really Rainbow paper and some fun with the paper airplanes from Plane and Simple!

Karin‘s Shadow Box Card is a great way to send a sweet thank you to a special teacher! The little scene features Village Heroes, Forest Border and Road Border. The cute owl from Jump for Joy is a fun addition!

Jenn‘s fun and colorful card spells out an encouraging message perfectly! She inked the background using the Cloudy Stencil and Grassy Stencil. Then she added the Stitched Rainbow cut from bright colors of cardstock and some cute images from Village Heroes! Louie’s ABCs are the perfect size to send this positive message!

We will share Design Team inspiration for you over the next 2 weeks and we’ll announce our Featured Fawnatics and random winner for Challenge 83 tomorrow!
