Mayra has amazing creativity for you today inspired by “Too Many Carrots” a children’s book by Katy Hudson! She created two cards, including a Ta-Da! Diorama!, that are so perfect for Spring crafting!

Mayra started with a fun Ta-Da! Diorama! featuring the cute Build-A-Bunny in black and white like the main character in the story. She filled the front of the card with “too many carrots” from Build-A-Bunny Accessories, Tiny Gift Box Bunny Add-On, Stitched Garden Border and more.

Inside the diorama, Mayra filled the scene with a large cast of characters from Some Bunny, Wood You Be Mine, Pick of the Patch and too many more to list. Please see the supply list below for all the sets Mayra used.

And she made an additional card with more scenes from the book! Here she used Peekaboo Backdrop with critters from Get Well Before ‘n Afters, Really High Five and birds from Let’s Play! And of course, more carrots!

Thank you so much for this delightful inspiration, Mayra!

Hi friends, it’s Samantha! The current challenge is all about those sweet, cute and happy holiday critters, so this time, I decided to make a card with the adorable penguins!

I stamped and colored the images from Penguin Party and Toboggan Together and then colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I thought it would be so fun to try something different and make the penguins bright and happy in yellow! So fun! I added some details with a white gel pen to finish them off!

I die cut out the frame from Peekaboo Backdrop in white and then popped it up with foam tape. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Pine Needles, Peacock Feathers and Salvaged Patina to add color to the square and rectangle windows for the winter sky. Then I splattered some white acrylic in on top to mimic snow!

I also used the Stitched Hillside Borders to die cut out some hills of snow for behind the frame. I added a very light blending of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink to the tops so the hills would match the blue tint of the snowballs and snow cones.

I finished the card off by popping up some of the penguins and then sprinkling some silver sequins around the adorable winter scene!

Thank you, Samantha for putting the spotlight on these adorable penguins for the Holiday Critters challenge!

Samantha was inspired by the children’s book series by Mo Willems: Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and The Duckling Gets a Cookie?! She says, “both of these books are near and dear to my heart since when my little Menn were actually little (ha!). They LOOOOVED these books and always made us ALL crack up!”

She started by stamping the images from the Rub-a-Dub-Dub, Car Critters, All the Speech Bubbles and Milk and Cookies with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and then die cut them out. Then she transformed the larger duck image into the Pigeon.

Samantha used the Peekaboo Backdrop dies to create the sort of book/comic book grid that is used in the book. She used Distress Oxide Inks in Abandoned Coral, Picked Raspberry, Dried Marigold and Tattered Rose to add ink blending all around.

The sentiments were stamped from All the Speech Bubbles in all of the tiny speech bubbles!

This is so sweet, Samantha! Thank you for sharing this inspired card!
