Jessica’s Pac-Man Maze

Good morning! Jess here with a card for our Interactive challenge! When I first saw the Slide on Over Maze die it immediately reminded me of Pac-Man and I knew eventually I’d need to make this card…and the current challenge was the perfect opportunity! 😉

To start I found my little Pac-Man ghosts from an unlikely die set…the tulips from Little Flowers! I die-cut them from several colors of cardstock and added googly eyes. Then I stamped the cherries from Sweetest Flavor, colored them with Copic markers, and die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I also die-cut a circle from yellow cardstock and cut out a wedge for Pac-Man’s mouth!

Next I die-cut the Slide on Over Maze from A2 panels of black cardstock and Blue Jay cardstock. I trimmed the Blue Jay cardstock panel down by about a quarter inch on all sides and then adhered it to the black cardstock slightly offset so the blue peeked through. I die-cut four more tulip ghosts from black cardstock and adhered them to the colored cardstock with a round foam glue dot. Then I carefully tucked the ghost around the lip of the maze so that the black cardstock was behind the blue and black panels and the colored cardstock was on top.

I used a double layer of foam tape to adhere the maze panel to a panel of black cardstock so that the ghosts and Pac-Man would slide easily along the channels. I adhered the cherries and drew in the dots with a gold gel pen. Finally I added the sentiment from Screen Time heat-embossed onto Blue Jay cardstock to finish the card! I just love how the little googly eyes on the ghosts move as they slide around the maze! 😉

And that’s it! You have two more weeks to join the Interactive Cards challenge and I can’t wait to see what you’ll create! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!

Caly’s Slide on Over Maze Inspiration

Hi, Everyone! It’s Caly with you today sharing a fun Slide on Over Maze card! The current them is Interactive Cards and I had so much fun creating this one!

When the Village Heroes set was released, I knew I had to create with it. My husband is a frontline worker working with COVID-19 patients every day. You know what my favorite thing to hear from him is? “I’m coming home.” The immense relief of this phrase is peaked the moment he enters the house.

My maze today starts with his car at the hospital and makes its way through the city, passing by schools and first responder buildings to get home. I did this by making his car a sliding element and using foam adhesive to elevate the top panel. To begin my card, I stamped and colored images from both the Village Heroes and the Happy Village sets using Copic markers.

Copic colors used:
Greens: YG11, G14, G17
Grays: C00, C1, C3, C5, C7
Reds: R22, R24, R29
Yellows: Y11, Y15, Y38
Browns: E30, E31, E35, E37
Blues: B0000, B000, B21, B23, B28

After die-cutting, I set my images aside to ink-blend the top panel. On a panel of white cardstock, I ink-blended first with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink to lightly cover the entire panel. Then using the Grassy Hillside Stencil, I ink-blended with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink. Then I die-cut the Slide On Over Maze and the Outside In Stitched Rectangle from this ink-blended panel at the same time to create my maze top. For the bottom, I used Storm Cloud cardstock and die-cut it using just the Outside In Stitched Rectangle so my top panel can have a backing and the dark gray can show up as the road.

I placed my maze panel over my gray panel as a guide and used my white gel pen to draw in the stitched lines for the road. Then, added my blue car as a slider before attaching this top panel to the gray road panel with foam adhesive

To finish my card, I attached all my die-cut images in various places on the panel to create my scene. This is a special card card for me and I really hope you enjoyed it!

My 4 year old daughter loves to color whatever I’m coloring and this card was so cool to her that she insisted on having one too. I’m always in awe of her coloring and love that she loves to be crafty with me!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don’t forget the Interactive challenge is open through Sunday July 5th at 11:59pm PT! That’s two and a half more weeks! I can’t wait to see what you all create!

Have a wonderful day!
Caly

Thank you so much, Caly for sharing this meaningful card design and for sharing the adorable card by your talented little girl! Many thanks to first responders, like your husband, for all that they do to serve, heal and protect!
