Christy’s Cute Card Remake!

Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our CASE Yourself Challenge! This one was so fun for me because it gives us the opportunity to look back at cards we’ve made in the past and use them as a jumping off point for a new creation!

For today’s project, I went back to a card I made nearly two years ago, but always loved the layout and the opportunity to mix some patterned papers. That card had a bright, Spring-time garden vibe, but this time I wanted to go for a dustier color palette and some more prickly plants. So I pulled out the new Llama Tell You, plus an old favorite, Stuck On You.

I stamped two of the large cacti with Jalapeño ink, and one of the smaller in Sage Leaf. I also stamped my Llama with Jet Black ink and colored him with Copic markers, giving him swirls in his fur and a cute striped blanket on his back for that western feel. Then I trimmed all my images out with the matching dies.

For the focal panel, I cut down a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock with the Stitched Journaling Card die, then sponged on some distress ink with a cloud stencil for a sunset sky. I layered on two panels of Kraft cardstock die cut with the Stitched Wave Borders, for some rough terrain. I stamped my sentiment on the bottom one with Walnut ink, then adhered my images with liquid glue.

My card base was trimmed to a standard A2 size from a piece of the new Sage Leaf cardstock. On that I layered my patterned papers. I cut the pieces that cover the card front with the Large Stitched Rectangle Stackables, and added a Stitched Scalloped Border where the two meet. Then I adhered the focal panel with foam tape. To finish off the card, I did some more stamping on the  inside with Sage Leaf ink, which you can check out in the video on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty.

There is plenty of time to play along in our CASE Yourself Challenge! It will be open until Sunday March, 31 at 11:59PM ET. I can’t wait to see what you create!
