Hi, Everyone! It’s Caly with you today sharing a fun Slide on Over Maze card! The current them is Interactive Cards and I had so much fun creating this one!
When the Village Heroes set was released, I knew I had to create with it. My husband is a frontline worker working with COVID-19 patients every day. You know what my favorite thing to hear from him is? “I’m coming home.” The immense relief of this phrase is peaked the moment he enters the house.
My maze today starts with his car at the hospital and makes its way through the city, passing by schools and first responder buildings to get home. I did this by making his car a sliding element and using foam adhesive to elevate the top panel. To begin my card, I stamped and colored images from both the Village Heroes and the Happy Village sets using Copic markers.
Copic colors used:
Greens: YG11, G14, G17
Grays: C00, C1, C3, C5, C7
Reds: R22, R24, R29
Yellows: Y11, Y15, Y38
Browns: E30, E31, E35, E37
Blues: B0000, B000, B21, B23, B28
After die-cutting, I set my images aside to ink-blend the top panel. On a panel of white cardstock, I ink-blended first with Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink to lightly cover the entire panel. Then using the Grassy Hillside Stencil, I ink-blended with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink. Then I die-cut the Slide On Over Maze and the Outside In Stitched Rectangle from this ink-blended panel at the same time to create my maze top. For the bottom, I used Storm Cloud cardstock and die-cut it using just the Outside In Stitched Rectangle so my top panel can have a backing and the dark gray can show up as the road.
I placed my maze panel over my gray panel as a guide and used my white gel pen to draw in the stitched lines for the road. Then, added my blue car as a slider before attaching this top panel to the gray road panel with foam adhesive
To finish my card, I attached all my die-cut images in various places on the panel to create my scene. This is a special card card for me and I really hope you enjoyed it!
My 4 year old daughter loves to color whatever I’m coloring and this card was so cool to her that she insisted on having one too. I’m always in awe of her coloring and love that she loves to be crafty with me!
Thanks so much for stopping by today! Don’t forget the Interactive challenge is open through Sunday July 5th at 11:59pm PT! That’s two and a half more weeks! I can’t wait to see what you all create!
Have a wonderful day!
Caly

Happy Crafting!
Such a fun card! It reminded me of when my son’s were little and we would throw down a mat with roads on it and play cars!
Really cute!
I love when my daughter crafts with me! Great cards from both of you
Great card Caly and big thanks to your husband. Please tell your daughter I think her card is fantastic and that she is very good at colouring
