Hey friends, it’s Christy here with another card for our Oh Baby! Challenge. This time I wanted to do a unisex card for those occasions where you might not know the gender yet, or even just want to have a stash of baby cards made up in advance that will work either way. So I stuck to shades of orange, yellow, and green — there’s a tiny bit of blue in the sky, and a tiny blush of pink on mama’s cheek. And I think everyone loves foxes, so they’re a great image to use to keep things gender neutral as well.
I combined a whole bunch of sets on today’s card, including Jump for Joy, On the Beach, Mom + Me, Butterfly Kisses, Critters in the Burbs, and Reveal Wheel Spring Sentiments. Whew! Isn’t it awesome how Lawn Fawn sets all just work so well together?
I started by coloring my images with Copic markers and trimming them out with the matching dies. Then I die cut the Meadow Backdrop: Landscape out of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock and keeping the whole thing together, ink blended Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink over the Cloudy Stencil to create the sky. Then I popped out the inner sky piece and ink blended Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn onto the grass panels. I also added a little splatter effect to give the panel a little something extra.
In the top right corner of the sky I stamped my sentiment with Black Licorice Ink. I created a card base from Sticky Note cardstock and adhered the background to it with liquid glue. Then I added my images to create the cute little scene with mama fox playing with her new baby on her tummy and daddy fox coming over to join in the fun!
If you’d like to see how this card came together, you can find the video tutorial on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. And you still have plenty of time to play along in our challenge and help celebrate the birth of Kelly Marie and Mike’s very own bundle of joy!
The Oh Baby challenge will be open until Sunday, May 31st at 11:59PM ET. We can’t wait to see your amazing creativity!
