Good morning! Jess here with a card for our current Little Things challenge! Today I decided to use the cute little seahorse mini set, Seahorsin’ Around to create a magical aquatic scene!
To start I stamped the seahorses and heart with black Versafine ink and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I colored them with Copic markers and die-cut them with the coordinating dies. I also added a few accents with a white gel pen. I stamped the sentiment onto Black Licorice cardstock with Clear Embossing Ink and heat-embossed it with gold embossing powder. Then I trimmed it down to a fishtail flag.
Next I created my background. I’ve been trying different alcohol ink techniques this summer to get different textures and dimensions and I thought this piece was perfect for waves. I used Copic refills in BG10, BG11, and B66 along with brass metallic ink to create the background and added bubble splatters with isopropyl alcohol. I finished the panel by adding a little liquid glue along the bottom and pressing gold leaf into the glue. Once the glue dried I brushed off the excess flakes. I adhered my sentiment and heart with liquid glue and then adhered my seahorses with foam mounting tape for a little extra dimension! I finished the card by adding a little Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle to the seahorses and heart.
And that’s it! You have two more weeks to get crafty for our Little Things challenge and I can’t wait to see how the little things inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend!
