Mimi‘s clever Give It a Whirl card shows a top view of a birthday cake decorated with frosting and confetti! Whirl the tab and a slice is missing! Yummy!
Be sure to check out the Intro to Give It a Whirl video for quick and easy assembly instructions and more ideas!
Mimi used flower dies from Tiny Gift Box Bunny Add-On and Woodland Critter Huggers Summer Add-On to make the frosting rosettes. She cut the larger flower from Woodland Critters Huggers Summer Add-On first, then she cut the flower with the one from Tiny Gift Box Bunny Add-On to give the smaller flower a swirly effect. That is so clever!
Since Mimi decorated the top circle of the “cake” with die cuts, she has a couple tips for making the interactive mechanism move smoothly. She suggests running the decorated circle through the die cut machine a few times to flatten the die cuts. Then she added lots of anti-static powder to cut down on friction. We recommend EK Success Powder Tool for this.
After you “give it a whirl”, part of the “cake” missing with only crumbs, confetti and the cake server are left. The confetti dots are circles from Spring Sprig and Pop-Up Desk. And the “cake server” is a garden tool from Watering Can.
Mimi found the perfect sentiment in Birthday Before ‘n Afters. She stamped it on “banners” made from the Build-An-Aquarium die set. The Happy Birthday on the cake is from Offset Sayings: Birthday.
This card is so brilliant, Mimi! Thank you for sharing it with us!
